X community adds a context note to user's post: An X (formerly Twitter) user posted "Here is the state of Texas defying the Supreme Court's orders at the instruction of Republican Governor Abbott. So why can't Biden enforce Roe v Wade protections or cancel all student debt or enforce the climate provisions SCOTUS shot down?" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Texas is not defying a Supreme Court ruling. SCOTUS got rid of an injunction that had stopped the federal gov't from 'damaging, destroying, or otherwise interfering with Texas’s c-wire fence...' Feds are just not legally blocked from interfering with the fence. supremecourt.gov/orders/courtor… twitter.com/GregAbbott_TX/… supremecourt.gov/search.aspx?fi… supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/23/2… texasattorneygeneral.gov/sites/default/…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
