Twitter places a sensitive content label on David Vance’s post: David Vance, a conservative media personality and blogger in the UK, responded to Democrat activist and MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton on Twitter. Vance tweeted, “Hello @TheRevAl, You have publicly stated that a white man would never get a beating like #TyreNichols. Here’s a video of a white man getting such a beating. Would like care [sic] to correct your wrongful claim?” Vance also included a video in the tweet. The video depicts a black police officer and a white police officer kicking and beating a white man down on the ground. Twitter obscured the video with a label that says, “The following media includes potentially sensitive content.” Sensitive content, according to Twitter’s guidelines, includes “graphic content,” e.g. “violent crimes or accidents” and “physical fights.” While the video in Vance’s tweet did depict a brutal incident, the footage that shows the beating of Tyre Nichols has been circulating on Twitter without any content warning labels.
