David Sacks

Twitter community adds a context note to David Sacks tweet:  Businessman Benny Johnson tweeted, “Horrible. American troops should not be in Ukraine. Period, end of story.” Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "The only American troops in Ukraine are embassy guard personnel and security forces--American troops are *not* in combat in Ukraine." A link was included to an article from The Hill to support this claim. The label continued, also claiming "(The Ukrainian Foreign Legion does have some Americans, but they are not US military nor are they under the command of the Pentagon:)" with a link to an NPR article as support for this claim. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
