Twitter purportedly restricted Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy's account for 12 hours after he tweeted a screenshot of an email exchange with Insider: Mediaite reported that Portnoy claimed Twitter locked his account for 12 hours. The platform purportedly removed a screenshot he tweeted showing an email exchange he had with Insider after the news organization smeared him with violent sexual misconduct allegations. It is unclear exactly how the images violated Twitter's policies. Similar censorship incidents forced users to delete the objectionable tweet and disabled a user's ability to tweet, retweet, follow other users, or like other users' posts while the account was restricted.
