Twitter deletes the tweet of a user who critiques transgenderism: According to a screenshot, Twitter suspended a user for tweeting, “Transgenderism is a psychological disorder.” Twitter gave the user the option to delete the tweet, claiming that the user was “violating our rules against hateful conduct.” Twitter also stipulated, “You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.” However, Twitter did not explain what specifically about the user’s tweet was in violation of its policy. The user did not mention or promote violence of any kind. At the time of writing, the user’s account appears to be restored, although it is unclear whether the user removed the tweet directly or whether Twitter removed it.
