X community adds a context note to Concerned Citizen post: An X user who goes by Concerned Citizen posted, "US Mum threatening to sue school because they won’t take her son identifying as a cat seriously. At this point, the lines between real life & parody/satire are almost indistinguishable." The post included a video clip of a woman complaining about her son's school not acknowledging his identity as a cat. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This is from a satire account on TikTok. It's a joke. She isn't being serious. This is the account in question, clearly labeled 'satire': tiktok.com/@isatandstared." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
