X community adds a context note to Children's Health Defense post: The Children's Health Defense account posted  "One of the reasons the polio vaccine doesn’t work is because polio isn’t caused by an infectious virus. It’s caused by toxins. Poliovirus is a commensal virus that is completely harmless in the absence of toxic onslaught." The post included a link to an article on the group's web site about the topic. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. No, polio is not caused by toxins. Polio, short for poliomyelitis, is a highly infectious viral disease caused by the poliovirus. The virus is typically transmitted through contaminated food, water, or contact with an infected person's feces. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… mayoclinic.org/diseases-condi…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
