X community adds a context note to Chaya Raichik post: The X account for the creator of LibsOfTikTok Chaya Raichik posted "The FAA just grounded Alaska Airlines nationwide. We need a serious reckoning of what the hell is going on in the airline industry. Are they compromising on safety in the name of DEI? If the answer is yes, people need to go to prison for this. They're playing with people's lives to virtue signal for a far-left anti-American ideology." The post included a New York Post article about the ground stop. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The one hour ground stop was requested by Alaska after an IT system that calculates weight & balance had an issue during upgrade: reuters.com/business/aeros… Such ground stops are uncommon, and are often linked to similar IT issues, but do not pose a safety concern: cnbc.com/2023/09/05/faa… nbcnews.com/storyline/airp… cnn.com/2013/04/16/tra…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
