X community adds a context note to user's post: An X (formerly Twitter) user posted "Did you know an Israeli military intelligence officer runs Twitter’s Trust & Safety? Meet Zach Schapira. Recently several pro-Israel trolls tried to get my account suspended but Zach stopped it because Johnson 'belongs to US intelligence' and Musk worried I’d respond." The user included several screenshots to support his assertions. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Army service is mandatory in Israel, back in 2009 the regular service lasted 3 years, as stated in his LinkedIn, in order for him to be an officer he would have to serve more than 3 years. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_De… By the proposed logic, every Israeli worker on X is an 'IDF intelligence officer.'" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
