X community adds a context note to CBC News post: Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) News posted "CBC's Marketplace hit the road in an electric vehicle to see how well the public charging infrastructure is working for Canadians. The investigation found a range in pricing across providers, as well as poor reliability and maintenance at some stations. https://cbc.ca/news/business/electric-car-charging-network-canada-marketplace-1.7094656 ." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Selective testing in this report misrepresents the situation by ignoring the largest most successful charging network, and the standardization on the North American Charging Standard that happened this year. electrek.co/2023/12/18/gm-…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
