Facebook fact checks gas prices post: A user told CensorTrack that his post was fact-checked by Facebook and labeled as "missing context." The post included a graph tracking gas prices since President Joe Biden's inauguration. The text said, "Everyone HERE knows gas is high because they shut down production in the US... but here is an extremely simple breakdown for people with short memories (putting it kindly). This information should be all over social media right now." Facebook claimed the post was "missing context" and linked to an article by independent fact-checkers. Posts with fact checks are negatively affected because users fail to click through a fact-check interstitial to see the post 95% of the time.
