Bret Weinstein, an evolutionary biologist known for his unwillingness to observe Evergreen State College's "Day of Absence," was spontaneously suspended from Facebook: Bret Weinstein tweeted that he had been "evicted" from Facebook without any explanation or avenue to file an appeal. "We are governed now in private, by entities that make their own rules and are answerable to no process. Disaster is inevitable. We are living it." Weinstein said on Twitter. A spokeswoman from Facebook later indicated to Weinstein on Twitter that his account had been "mistakenly flagged" by Facebook's system that identifies imposter accounts. She apologized and Weinstein's account has since been restored.
