Claim from American Principles Project that Joe Biden has failed to condemn ANTIFA flagged by fact-checker as "Partly False" information: A post first shared by the conservative American Principles Project (APP), which indicates Joe Biden has failed until very recently to condemn ANTIFA, has been marked by fact-checkers as "Partly False" information. Variations of the original post by APP contain an image of Joe Biden accompanied by versions of this text: "Turns out, Americans don't like violence in their streets. So after 3 months of silence and slipping poll numbers, I'm now against rioting." (Alternative text variation: "Turns out people don't like seeing their country destroyed. So, after 90 days of silence, and a dip in the polls, I'm now against rioting.") According to the Reuters fact-check Biden has "repeatedly condemned violent protests" through blog posts and campaign statements. Reuters cited a May 31 post on Biden's blog that said, "Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It’s an utterly American response. But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not." Reuters also cited an August 30 campaign statement that said, "The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable […] as a country we must condemn the incitement of hate and resentment that led to this deadly clash. It is not a peaceful protest when you go out spoiling for a fight.” American Principles Project is a member of the Free Speech Alliance.
