American Crossroads

Ad from Republican Super PAC targeting Georgia Senate candidate Raphael Warnock removed from Facebook after fact-checker Lead Stories says it's 'Out of Context': American Crossroads is a Republican Super PAC founded by former Republican National Committee Chair Ed Gillespie and well known Republican strategist and former White House chief of staff for George W. Bush, Karl Rove. Just days after Facebook lifted its political advertising ban, allowing ads pertaining to the Senate runoff election in Georgia, an ad from American Crossroads targeting Democrat candidate Raphael Warnock was removed from Facebook. Facebook fact-checker Lead Stories marked the ad as "Out of Context" following a public outcry from writer Judd Legum who called the ad "a blatantly false attack on Warnock." In the ad, Warnock is compared to Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose radical remarks have previously been denounced by Barack Obama. The ad alleges that Warnock has defended Wright and "repeated the same anti-American hate himself."
