X community adds a context note to A.J. Delgado's post: Lawyer and political commentator A.J. Delgado posted in response to another user who had told her, after a previous post about the Harvard Extension School, "Might I suggest you sound a little too wrapped up in the label of being a Harvard graduate/alumnus? Who cares?" Her response to this was "But at least I actually have a real Harvard degree, unlike ya' boy." The post was part of a response to political activist Christopher Rufo claiming to have a master's degree from Harvard when he attended the extension school. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. From Extension.Harvard.edu: "Our degrees and certificates are adorned with the Harvard University insignia. They carry the weight of that lineage. Our graduates walk at University Commencement and become members of the Harvard Alumni Association." extension.harvard.edu/about/." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
