Twitter removed post showing the head of Bayers pharmaceutical division bragging about rebranding gene therapy: Aaron Ginn, a contributor to The Federalist Society and CEO of Hydra Host, tweeted a video of Stefan Oelrich, head of the Pharmaceuticals Division at Bayer AG referring to the mRNA vaccines as gene therapy. "Ultimately the mRNA vaccines are an example for that cell and gene therapy," he said. "I always like to say, if we had surveyed two years ago in the public 'would you be willing to take a gene gene or cell therapy and inject it into your body' we would've probably had a 95% refusal rate. I think this pandemic has also opened many people's eyes to innovation in a way that was maybe not possible before." Ginn added the caption "The head of pharma at Bayer proudly claims the COVID- mRNA vaccine is gene therapy and that misleading the public was useful to create widespread adoption." Twitter labeled the tweet misleading and placed a sharing restriction on the tweet preventing users from, commenting, retweeting, liking, or saving quick links to the tweet. Users can only quote tweet the the content if they would like to share it.
