Facebook fact-checks satirical shirt mocking Joe Biden: BlazeTV host Steve Deace posted a photo of his new shirt which he said his wife bought him, reading, “‘Buy a Man Eat Fish, the Day, Teach Man, to a Life Time.’ —Joe Biden.” Facebook imposed a filter on the July 24 photo, claiming, “False information. The same information was checked in another post by independent fact-checkers.” Clicking on “see why” brings up a linked fact-check and the message, “Independent fact-checkers say this information has no basis in fact. You can choose whether to see it.” The linked Check Your Fact piece states that there is no record of Biden saying the fake quote on Deace’s shirt. It seems Facebook censors have no ability to understand humor.
