Artificial intelligence is already being used to interfere in the 2024 presidential election campaign in dangerous ways.

Axios tried to camouflage how artificial intelligence (AI) is being deployed in elections but failed in its attempt to camouflage the nefarious methods by which Big Tech can use it against conservatives. According to its April 29 story, Axios denoted how AI is being used to improve fundraising efficiency, create promotional material, speed up writing processes and increase targeting specificity for prospective donors and voters. The caveat, reported Axios, was that the development highlighted “the potential risks” of “disinformation” and “‘deep fakes.’” That was the extent of the red flags Axios saw fit to reveal to readers despite its apparent Freudian slip that “[t]here are no rules for using AI in politics.”

“Often the left makes their bias known most clearly not by what they’re saying but by what they’re not saying,” stated MRC Free Speech America & MRC Business Director Michael Morris. “Axios makes abundantly clear in this piece that ending so-called ‘disinformation’ is all you should worry about while completely ignoring how AI could be used to perfect Big Tech’s and Big Government’s favorite modern pastime: censoring Americans.”

AI involvement in elections has the potential to interfere in the 2024 election in a much more precarious sense, one that Axios bypassed completely: automating censorship. After all, Big Tech censorship significantly impacted the 2020 election. A November 2020 Media Research Center poll found that 4.6% of President Joe Biden’s voters said that had they known of the Hunter Biden scandal that was actively suppressed by Big Tech, they would not have voted for then-candidate Biden.

All this was apparently lost on Axios. “Artificial intelligence is already affecting the 2024 election in ways that could reshape how campaigns are run and how voters are informed — or misled,” the outlet claimed in its lede paragraph. But apparently, reshaping Big Tech’s ability to censor Americans on an even more egregious scale wasn’t a threat Axios was willing to consider.

Money from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has also been shown to have impacted elections for two cycles now.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been proven to have a leftist bias. For instance, the program praised Joe Biden but not Donald Trump.

Even the supposed benefits of AI involvement that Axios propped up were chilling.

Political campaigns are now able to “zero in” on voters, their personal likes and even hobbies, noted Axios. In addition, “[c]onsultants are using [AI] to sweep large amounts of data — such as a person's location, income and media habits — to find patterns that drive donations or support for a candidate, and create lists ranking likely supporters,” according to the ominous report. Talk about terrifying.

At least one expert is warning about AI even as he uses it. “If 2008 and 2012 were the Facebook elections, this will be the AI election — but it'll be massively more disruptive,” Republican firm Convergence Media’s VP of digital marketing Tom Newhouse reportedly told Axios. “I would be willing to bet that the 'October surprise' next year is from AI.”
