A Democrat billionaire podcaster pierced through years of legacy media’s abysmal coverage of former President Donald Trump’s accomplishments during his administration.

Chamath Palihapitiya, co-host of the All-In podcast explained his frustration that the accomplishments of the Trump administration had been overlooked by many in the country, harangued by the media and reversed by Trump’s successor due to a chronic case of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

On the Oct. 13th edition of the All-In podcast, Palihapitiya said, "As a Democrat —who has been left homeless, who is now definitely in the center, but probably leaning increasingly right — I'm left yet again with an appreciation, despite the messenger of the message, of the Trump administration.” The Democrat highlighted what he deemed as Trump's foreign policy victories. “[W]hat those guys did was pretty incredible in hindsight.”

Palihapitiya specifically praised Trump’s foreign policy for placing emphasis on brokering peace between Israel and neighboring Arab nations. “These Abraham Accords, the accords with Israel and the [Gulf Cooperation Council], the almost accord between Israel and Saudi [Arabia], to really be able to find a long-lasting peace was just a real example for the world. And those guys did a lot of really great work."

Legacy media such as NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, The New York Times and The Washington Post have failed their audiences by continuing to demonize the messenger, while depriving people of the message, as Palihapitiya noted. When then-President Trump signed the Abraham Accords, the Big Three networks (ABC, NBC and CBS) went out of their way to dismiss this accomplishment, including by devoting very little time to discussing it.

“Anyone watching the TV networks in the Trump era saw them lunge to discredit or ignore any accomplishment achieved by the Trump administration. The Abraham Accords were dismissed as more of a business deal than a peace deal, economic growth under Trump was described as a ‘"mirage’" as they ignored new unemployment lows and new stock market highs,” said NewsBusters Executive Editor Tim Graham. “Liberal journalists will always see tax cuts and deregulation as a negative. It's not an ‘accomplishment’ if the goal is conservative, reducing the burdens of government.”

Palihapitiya pointed out that the left rejected beneficial changes and ideas brought about by Trump, due to their obsessive hatred of him, saying that “Trump Derangement Syndrome” was “causing us to not see that good work and embrace and extend it.”

"So much of the work that happened in that administration turns out to have been right and that’s what’s so frustrating for me,” Palihapitya added. “The work on the border wall, we didn't like the messenger, so we killed the message. Turned out it was right. Issuing long-term debt to refinance when rates were at zero. We didn't like the messenger, so we killed the message. A structural peace in the Middle East. We didn't like the messenger, so we killed the message.”

The Big Three networks massively contributed to this problem during the Trump administration by offering almost entirely negative commentary on his immigration policies during the first eighteen months of his presidency. In 2020, PBS would minimize Trump’s work on the border.

Pailihapityia’s comments on Middle East Peace follow a devastating Hamas terrorist attack in Israel that killed at least 1,400 people.

The billionaire podcast host asked, “When are we going to stop shooting ourselves in the foot” before suggesting for viewers to listen to ideas rather than fixating on their feelings towards the people saying them.
