Bloomberg News’ leftist billionaire owner Michael Bloomberg is once again doubling down on his efforts to devastate the American energy industry.

Bloomberg took to twitter on June 22 to tout his Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Annual Report, which included references to a successful effort to harm the American energy industry. The report unveils work done to produce a “Clean Energy Transition in Minnesota.” The report also claimed to have “helped close 12 of the state’s 15 coal plants including one that will become one of the world’s battery storage sites.” Bloomberg even took credit for shutting down more than “70% of plants nationwide.”

In this report, Bloomberg Philanthropies announced more radical attempts to shut down sources of cheap energy, stating that they had blocked “34 new gas plants,” and “helped three states pass 100% clean energy or net-zero emissions policies.”

Bloomberg Philanthropies also made clear that they opposed not only all sources of cheap and popular energy, but also any products derived from them, a “Beyond Petrochemicals” campaign.

The description of the campaign is disturbing. “In 2022, Bloomberg Philanthropies launched a new campaign to block the construction or expansion of new U.S. petrochemical facilities, a major source of carbon emissions, air pollution, and cancer-causing toxins,” the draconian report claimed, before going on to mention that plastic and fertilizers are made from petrochemicals and that their campaign intends to block around 120 proposed petrochemical facilities.

The report appeared to anticipate that Americans would take issue with a billionaire’s empire trying to force the closure of coal plants.  “Existing facilities already meet the current demand for petrochemicals, and these planned facilities threaten to subject local communities to even greater health and climate risks,” according to the report’s propaganda.

Reached for comment, Climate Depot founder Marc Morano spoke out against the campaign: “Our media, government, energy and economic institutions have been hijacked by billionaires buying their way into positions of power and influence. Bloomberg Philanthropies seeks to make life more expensive, harder, and less healthy for Americans by pushing this climate ideology,” he said.

Morano went on to attack not only Bloomberg, but other rich leftists, adding, "The billionaire cabal has hijacked our media, academia, public health, and climate policy. Restricting cheap, reliable energy and the miracle of plastic will not impact 'climate change' nor will it even alter global carbon dioxide levels."

At the same time, Bloomberg’s media empire has continued to provide ESG ratings for over 5500 companies, an attempt to separate “climate leaders” from “laggards” in order to stigmatize the latter in an impact report released in April. Bloomberg’s lackeys also bragged about closing coal mines in that report too.
