Conservative radio host Mark Levin has apparently had it with leftist billionaire George Soros wielding colossal influence over American politics and society.
Levin tweeted on Jan. 5 that “Soros has spent decades using enormous sums of money to overthrow our society.” He then called on the “[t]he GOP [to] look at what [Soros’] massive network of anti-American groups are doing.” MRC Business can help with that. Levin’s tweet came just before MRC Business released its second report in its three-part research series on Soros’ enormous ties to the global media.

Soros funneled a whopping $131 million between 2016 and 2020 to 253 media organizations in the U.S. and abroad to amplify Soros’ radical messaging on issues including abortion, Marxist economics, anti-Americanism, defunding the police, environmental extremism and LGBT fanaticism.
Along with his call to action, Levin demonstrated the need to expose Soros. He shared a Washington Free Beacon story that revealed Soros hurling $4.5 million into a radical leftist group in 2021 that advocates for packing the U.S. Supreme Court. “And since tax returns are now free game, acquire them and release them to the public. I’m sure the left and media will agree,” Levin said.
Soros' influence over the flow of information is disturbing enough. But it's made worse by the chilling aims of the media organizations that his ungodly fortune funds. For example, MRC’s research found that openDemocracy — a global organization that received $1,633,457 from Soros between 2016-2020 — justified Palestinian terrorist rockets fired into Israel as “a necessary counter-discourse” to what it dubbed a “colonial power.” The outlet decried in its anti-Israel screed:
The Israeli Jewish public must understand that there shall be no security so long as they do not turn their anger and frustration at their very supremacist privilege and ideological system which is embodied in the Israeli government, left-wing, centrist, or right-wing.
openDemocracy flaunts that it “attracts more than 11 million visits per year” and publishes “in Russian, Spanish and Portuguese as well as English.” Project Syndicate, another Soros-funded outlet with global reach, published propaganda by former Iranian president and anti-American extremist Hassan Rouhani.
Rouhani threatened further conflict with the U.S. in his 2014 column for Project Syndicate if an agreement on his country’s nuclear program wasn’t reached. Project Syndicate claimed its commentaries appeared a baffling 20,393 times in 156 countries in 2021 alone, in addition to working with 508 media outlets around the world.
But that’s just scratching the surface of the level of power wielded by Soros-funded media outlets. When President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security chose to erect an Orwellian Disinformation Governance Board targeting American speech in reported coordination with social media platforms, a Soros-tied media figure managed to gain control over the operation. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas tapped DHS Principal Deputy General Counsel Jennifer Daskal, the founding editor of the Just Security blog, to co-chair the DGB.
Soros’ OSF not only financed Daskal’s publication with $675,000 between 2016 and 2020, Daskal also personally worked for Soros. She previously served as an Open Society Institute fellow “working on issues related to privacy and law enforcement access to data across borders.”
DHS would later dismantle the DGB in August 2022 following major political backlash over the Biden administration creating its own acceptable speech gatekeeper. Any “nonpartisan” veneer Biden’s administration falsely propped up for the DGB flew out the window after MRC Business exposed the Soros connection.
In a separate analysis, MRC Business discovered a litany of left-wing, censorship-obsessed activist groups that Soros financed to the tune of at least $80,233,084 between 2016 and 2020. These groups put enormous pressure on Big Tech CEOs to censor free speech before the 2022 midterm elections. Targeted executives included CEOs like Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Google’s Sundar Pichai, YouTube’s Susan Wojcicki and TikTok’s Shou Zi Chew.
