PayPal bans independent news site from using its services: UncoverDC, a digital news site claiming to be dedicated to providing its readers with the “unvarnished truth” and pledging "to always work with [its] three bedrock principles in mind: Truth. Integrity. Accountability,” has been banned from continuing to use PayPal's services. "PayPal determined that UncoverDC violated PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy," the digital news site reported. Neither the outlet's reporting, nor a purported screenshot of the notice PayPal sent to the outlet, indicate exactly what violated PayPal's policies. "As a result, [UncoverDC's] account has been permanently limited and [UncoverDC] won't be able to conduct any further business using PayPal," stated PayPal's purported notice shared by UncoverDC. "You must remove all references to PayPal from your website(s) and/or auction(s), including removing PayPal as a payment option, the PayPal logo, and the PayPal shopping cart," the notice continued. The notice also reiterated that customers banned by the company are not permitted to create a new account in an attempt to circumvent the ban. UncoverDC said that it will be seeking alternative "transaction platforms" for the future, but in the meantime will not be stopping its reporting.
