Instagram removes Australian politician Craig Kelly's account for violating ban circumvention policy after he was banned on Facebook days earlier but continued to post on Instagram and a follow up account on Facebook: After his main Facebook account was banned, Australian politician Craig Kelly continued posting from both his Instagram account and from a follow up account on Facebook. Both of these accounts were subsequently removed for violating Facebook's policy against circumventing bans from its platform two days after Kelly's main account was removed from it. “When we remove people for violating our policies, we don’t allow them to circumvent this with additional accounts,” a Facebook spokeswoman said in a statement, according to The New Daily. “We have removed Craig Kelly’s second Facebook page and Instagram account for violating our policies on this.” Kelly's initial ban resulted from what Facebook said were repeated violations of its policies against sharing misinformation about COVID-19. Particularly, Kelly has made several posts in support of ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19, which goes against Facebook's policy that prohibits content promoting alternative treatments.
