Reddit mod permanently bans user who does not think Kyle Rittenhouse is a terrorist: A Reddit user participated in a discussion about the Kyle Rittenhouse self-defense case. 18-year-old Rittenhouse was charged with first-degree murder after he killed two men in self-defense during one of the 2020 Antifa riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. When recounting the situation, the user clearly disagreed with another user who claimed Rittenhouse was at the riots for good reasons. "Hard disagree," he said. "I don't really care about property destruction when police legally shoot people in the back as they get into their car. No justice, no peace."  However, the user also said the teen's actions "were clearly self-defense" and, according to user-generated screenshots, he said "reckless homicide," one of the five formal charges against Rittenhouse, cannot be equated to terrorism. The screenshot also shows that one of the moderators of the subreddit r/news permanently banned the user from the subreddit for "[s]upporting terror." When the user asked for further explanation the moderator said "[s]upporting a terrorist is pro supporting terror. What's on your list next? Al qaeda?"  The permanent ban only applies to the subreddit r/news and prevents the user from posting or commenting in that specific subreddit. The user can, however, view and subscribe to the subreddit and participate in other subreddits on the site.
