Reddit moderator muted and permanently banned a user claiming those who don't commit a crime will have less trouble with the police:  A Reddit user responded to a conversation between two other users who claimed "All Cops Are Bastards" and that "structures of law enforcement create situations where it is infinitely easier to be a bastard than not." The responding user said: "Funny. I've never had a problem with the cops in Japan, or any of the various countries I've visited or lived in. It's almost as if [if] you don't break the law, you won't get in trouble." The moderator of the subreddit, r/japanlife, flagged the comment and muted the user for 28 days. Later the same day, the moderator deleted the comment and permanently banned the user from posting or commenting in the subreddit because the 'posts/Replies should add value," according to subreddit rules. The moderator explained, "if you post or reply to a post please add value with your comments. Kindly refrain from trolling, dismissive replies, or replying with unrelated content or similar. Accounts found to be consistently and overly engaging in this sort of behavior are subject to being banned."
