Facebook censors user for a Jussie Smollett joke meme: A Twitter user shared a screenshot of his Facebook censorship notice. on April 4, 2019, he posted a meme showing a still shot from the comedy film Blazing Saddles where the Sheriff, a black man, was holding a gun to his neck in an attempt to fool the townsfolk into believing that he was being held hostage by someone else who was threatening his life. The text overlay read "Rare photo of Jussie Smollett being attacked." On February 28, 2022, the user noted that approximately "a month ago"the post had been removed by Facebook. The screenshot indicated that Facebook "had to remove something you posted," saying "There are certain kinds of posts about suicide or self-injury that we don't allow on Facebook, because we want to promote a safe environment."
