Mastodon censors user for explaining her anti-diversity reading choices: A Twitter user who claims to be a cofounder of "@projectinclude" and also working on an app "to solve online harassment" shared a screenshot of her Mastodon censorship notice. Mastodon is the alternative to Twitter that many leftist have been turning to in a rebuke against Elon Musk and his pro-free-speech stance. Ironically, this user stated that "in 13 years on twitter i've never had a post removed, and in 3 weeks on mastodon i've already had something taken down for racism and sexism, ok." According to the purported screenshot from Mastodon, the user had posted a message there that read: "for the last few years i've been almost exclusively reading books by authors who are non-male non-white non-straight (or some combination thereof) and i've loved it but now i'm thinking i need to return to straight white male authors to study the psychology of the rich white men who hold power over all of us." Mastodon cited two of its rules in deleting this content. The first rule it claimed was violated read "No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or casteism." The second rule it claimed was violated read "No incitement of violence or promotion of violent ideologies."
