Twitter user censored for a sarcastic tweet about COVID-19 vaccine: A Twitter user reported that his account was censored. As background, he wrote on his blog that someone else had tweeted out a link to a short fictional film "about the level of privacy we've given up without even knowing it, due to the real life collaborations between companies (Amazon, Google etc.) and institutions like the police and the NHS. In the film, algorithms take that data to make judgements about people." In a twist of irony, the user's response tweet was censored because of an algorithm. He sarcastically tweeted, "Very good. One slight flaw. They don't need any of that tech for vaccinated people. The nanobots in your brainstem transmit all the information over 5G to Bill Gates anyway." Twitter noted that this tweet violated its "policy on spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19." The user noted that he was forced to delete the tweet in order to regain access to his account, and that he was restricted to only browsing and using DMs for 12 hours after.
