Facebook censors links to Texas Nationalist Movement's web site promoting Texas secession: In a lawsuit filed by the Texas Nationalist Movement against Facebook parent company Meta, the group that promotes making "Texas an independent nation again" alleged that Facebook blocked links to its TEXITnow.org site for a period of time in the fall of 2022. The group stated in its lawsuit that when users attempted to post a link to the group's web site on October 11, 2022, they received a message stating that the content was unable to be posted because it violated Facebook's Community Guidelines, but did not specify which guideline was violated or how. The group is suing under a new Texas law that is in the process of working its way to the Supreme Court and is seeking class action status. As of publication, links to the group's web site are being allowed on Facebook once again.
