Spotify removed then restored an episode of Turning Point USA podcast featuring Abigail Shrier: Turning Point USA contributor and show host Alex Clark interviewed Abigail Shrier, author of "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters" on her podcast The Spillover. The pair discussed the growing phenomenon of teenage girls who claim to be transgender and undergo social and hormonal transitioning. She said entire friend groups of teenage girls often transitioned at the same time and that many of the girls likely dealt with mental health issues and social pressures. "They were girls who were going off to school and they were hearing nothing good about being a white girl. There's nothing girl about being a privileged white girl" said Shrier. She added that "they very much wanted to fit in. They very much were socially awkward. They were often very bright girls but they didn't fit in and they really wanted to stop being berated, I think, for being such a, you know, rotten identity that they were walking around with." Spotify removed the episode, claiming it "found the following podcast episode to be in violation of our content policies," according to a screenshot provided by Clark. She also said on her daily show that Spotify reversed its decision after "a couple of hours" following a stream of complaints on social media from fans of the show.
