YouTube removes then restores video criticizing the media's handling of so-called election misinformation: YouTube removed a video of Libertarian Institute Director Scott Horton interviewing author and journalist Matt Taibbi allegedly for propagating so-called election misinformation. In an article for the Libertarian Institiute Horton explained. "Here’s what’s happened: We discussed the fact that YouTube had previously demonetized his videos about the media’s — including YouTube’s — double standard on criticism of the 2016 election vs the 2020 one," he wrote. YouTube removed the video deeming it "Content that advances false claims that widespread fraud, errors, or glitches changed the outcome of the U.S. 2020 presidential election," according to screenshots included in the Libertarian Insitute report. YouTube reportedly rejected Horton's appeal. After he reached out to YouTube on Twitter the platform later restored the video.
