Rand Paul

Twitter censoring Rand Paul tweet of historical fact with a "misleading information about voting" notice: Senator Rand Paul took to Twitter in the wake of the chaos surrounding the 2020 election with some history. "KY Dem Ed Pritchard was convicted of voter fraud in 1949 for fraudulently casting 254 votes. His biographer said: 'the untidy truth was that widespread vote fraud was America's dirty little secret . . .' Elections with millions of mail ballots makes fraud more likely not less." Twitter deemed that this was unacceptable, and added a civic integrity notice to his tweet that read: "Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process." Civic integrity notices diminish their visibility on the platform, per Twitter's policy. The civic integrity notice also prevent users from liking or re-tweeting the tweet, as reported by multiple users. This sharing restriction limited the reach and engagement of the tweet.
