Before he began demonstrating the process, he added a disclaimer telling viewers that they could try the process at their own risk. VICE News reported that the video received over 800,00 views before YouTube deleted the content, and Soni received numerous messages of thanks for creating the video. Award-winning scientist, Thalappil Pradeep commented on the relative minimal risks of civilians making DIY oxygen for Covid-19 patients. "With anything scientific, you have to be cautious," he said. "There could be some amount of hydrogen that gets mixed in when you use this method, but it is still not a large enough amount to be harmful, as long as the water you are using is clean.” YouTube deleted the video claiming it included "dangerous content." The platform did not respond to VICE's request for comment, but the news site suggested the video might have been deleted due to YouTube's prohibition of “content which claims that harmful treatments can have health benefits.”
