Facebook cracks down on QAnon: In August, Facebook took action against QAnon affiliated accounts and groups that contained any hint of violence. This led to the removal over over 1,500 pages and groups. Facebook announced on October 6 that it would be taking proactive steps to remove any content related to QAnon, whether it hints at violence or not. According to the NY Times, "within 24 hours, hundreds of groups had disappeared, many of them with hundreds of thousands of followers."
