Twitter community adds a context note to Joe Biden tweet: The official Twitter account for the president tweeted, “Many of you, like me, know the cost of these expensive cancer drugs. They can be up to $14,000 a year. Well, our Administration is capping that at $2,000.” Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "The Inflation Reduction Act includes a Medicare Part D provision that will cap out-of-pocket drug costs at $2,000. This provision is scheduled to go into effect in 2025. It should be noted that this provision is not applicable outside of Medicare Part D coverage." The context note also included several links that supported the note. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
