President Joe Biden

Twitter community adds a context note to Joe Biden tweet:  The official Twitter account for the president tweeted, “It's time for Congress to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. I led the fight to ban them in 1994, and we can do it again.”  The tweet included a meme that read “Ban Assault Weapons." Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "The Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Act was enacted as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. Biden was not a sponsor or cosponsor in either. Biden drafted the Senate version which WaPo stated that he let police groups write it. " The context note also included several links that supported the note. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system.
