President Joe Biden

Twitter community adds a context note to Joe Biden tweet:  The official Twitter account for the president tweeted, “We’re building an economy from the bottom up and the middle out by creating more jobs than any Administration in history at this point in a presidency." The tweet also included an infographic showing the average number of jobs created per month for Biden and the previous five presidents. Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "This graph misleadingly credits Biden for the creation of new jobs. The spike in jobs is more accurately attributed to the lifting of COVID 19 restrictions at the state and local level. These are not “new” jobs but instead jobs that are returning to the economy pre-COVID 19. " The note included a link to support the assertion. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system.
