Twitter community adds a context note to Joe Biden tweet:  The official Twitter account for the president tweeted, “I promised to tackle the spike in prices at the pump caused by Putin's war. Since then, we've led the world in oil releases, rallying our global partners to release oil as well. Now, gas prices are at the cheapest levels since June 2021. And I'm not done yet." Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "Analysis by the Hoover institute, Newsweek, and the AEA dispute Ukraine war as the root cause and give a more detailed multi-variable analysis of gas price root cause. One of which is current US policy." The note included several links to support the assertion. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
