Facebook blocks sharing of NY Post article about BLM co-founder's controversial property acquisitions: Citing its policy around privacy and personal information, Facebook has blocked its users' ability to shareNew York Post article exposing Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors' controversial multi-million dollar real estate empire. A New York Times media reporter indicated on Twitter that Facebook's reasoning for censoring the article from its platform was because it "shared multiple details which could identify the residence of one of the BLM founders, in violation of her privacy rights." Facebook has also reportedly blocked users' ability to share the article via private messaging. Twitter took similar action last week when it locked the account of sports journalist Jason Whitlock after he criticized the BLM co-founder as well. Amid the controversy, BLM put out a statement this week defending Cullors. In it, the political organization remarked that the reporting on Cullors' real estate properties "continues a tradition of terror by white supremacists against Black activists."
