X censors user for images of an aborted baby that was labeled as sensitive content by the user: An X user shared a screenshot of his censorship notice. The user posted "The reality of what abortion does needs to be made clear to all" along with images that, in the user's words, depicted "the realities of the abortion industry." The user noted that he had marked the posts as "sensitive content," but X still locked his account until he deleted the posts, citing its "rules against posting media depicting gratuitous gore," according to the screenshot. The notice continued, saying "You may not share excessively graphic media (e.g., severe injuries, torture). Exposure to gratuitous gore can be harmful, especially if the content is posted with intent to delight in cruelty or for sadistic pleasure." The sensitive content label that the user applied to the posts would have hidden the images behind a filter for users who had not changed the default settings on their X account. If they were using the X app, they would not be able to view the images without changing this setting. If they were using the desktop version of X, they would be able to view the images if they clicked through the filter.
