Twitter removes blue check mark from Director of MRC Latino: Jorge Bonilla, Director of the Media Research Center's Latino division, which advocates for comprehensive, fair, and accurate news coverage in U.S. Spanish-language media, has been stripped of his blue check mark on Twitter. Bonilla was sent an email from Twitter support on Sept. 7, indicating to him that "After a recent review, we've determined that your Twitter account was incorrectly Verified. This means that the blue badge will be removed from your account." Bonilla is not the only person to face de-verification on Twitter this week. Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow Chris Rufo was unverified by Twitter and reportedly targeted by a “Government-backed attack” after he allegedly exposed ridiculous anti-racism policies being employed at Google.
