Mike Crispi

Twitter censors Mike Crispi for condemning the Trans Day of Vengeance: Mike Crispi, a host on Salem Radio, tweeted, “Calling the 'Trans day of vengeance' mentally ill (which is what it is) is grounds to get your account locked? FIRE the internal left-wing holdouts who are trying to keep twitter down,” and posted a purported screenshot of his account. According to the screenshot, he had tweeted, “We have normalized their ILLNESS for far too long,” in response to calls for a Trans Day of Vengeance. Twitter instructed him to remove the tweet, claiming he was “Violating one of our Rules.” Twitter Rules are meant to prevent a range of inappropriate content from “violent speech,” “gory,” or “adult content,” and “non-consensual nudity” to “platform manipulation and spam.” However, Twitter did not explain what specific content in Crispi’s tweet violated its policies. At the time of writing, Crispi’s account appeared to be unlocked, although the disputed tweet is no longer available. In its place appeared the message, “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules.” According to Twitter’s enforcement policy, “In the interim period between when Twitter takes enforcement action and the person removes the Tweet, we hide that Tweet from public view and will replace the original content with a notice stating that the Tweet is no longer available because it violated our Rules.” Twitter would have required Crispi to delete the tweet in order for his account to have been unlocked.
