Twitter permanently suspends state Libertarian Party account: The Libertarian Party of Colorado’s account @LPCO was permanently suspended by Twitter. An unverified account, @cheddarb0b777, tweeted a screenshot of a Twitter email to @LPOC, announcing that the account’s appeal was denied because “a violation did take place.” The only explanation provided was that the account “will not be restored due to violations of” Twitter’s “rules against violent speech.” @cheddarb0b777 commented, “The @LPCO Twitter is permanently suspended. No warnings, no links to the ‘violations’, no reasons given. No, Twitter is NOT a private company, it takes money and direction from the US GOV. The ban of a political party is suppression of free speech.” Another account, The Redheaded Libertarian, tweeted July 6, “The Colorado libertarian party official Twitter account was permanently suspended. ‘Violating tweets’ were sent as a reason, but they were blank.”
