X community adds a context note to Laura Loomer post: Political commentator Laura Loomer re-posted a video from another X user that was labeled "Kevin McCarthy is broken." The video was of some people dancing to an AC/DC song in a somewhat crazy manner. Loomer added her own commentary to the screenshot, saying "He literally lost his mind after being removed as Speaker of the House… Now he’s celebrating screwing over Americans one last time before the holidays. He voted for NDAA yesterday. He doesn’t care about any of you. He is going to make a lot of money in the private sector now." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The individual in this video is not Kevin McCarthy. The video is from an Australian wedding in 2022. tiktok.com/@sallyneill09/…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
