X community adds a context note to Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND) post: The X account for Republican Senator John Hoeven (ND) posted "More exciting news in #NDPrecisionAg – we secured $1.5M for @TheGrandFarm under EDA’s Tech Hubs Program. This will support efforts w/ Headwaters Tech Hub to develop smart sensors in autonomous systems, aiding not only ag producers but also defense and disaster response." The post included a screenshot showing the ChatGPT results claiming there had been no assassination attempt. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Senator Hoev voted against the CHIPS act which made this funding possible. senate.gov/legislative/LI…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
