X community adds a context note to Jesse Kelly post: Conservative commentator Jesse Kelly posted "I thought @elonmusk taking over would let freedom ring on this site. Guess I was wrong. Sorry, but these colors don’t run." The post included a screenshot of his original post along with the Community Note that it received. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The colors of the United States are also the colors of France, the UK, Australia and many other countries. They are not unique to the United States. worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankin…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later. Kelly later posted indicating that his original post was "a (fairly obvious) joke" that he posted to troll communists.
