The Intellectualist

X community adds a context note to a post of a Trump interview clip: An X user posted a clip of Shawn Hannity interviewing former President Donald Trump. The user's post included a transcription from the short clip, reading "Hannity: 'I can’t imagine you ever saying, ‘Bring me some boxes we brought back from the White House. I’d like to look at them.’' Trump: 'I would do that..I have the right to take stuff! You know they ended up paying Nixon $18 million for what he had.' The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. In response to the Nixon issue, Congress enacted the Presidential Records Act in 1978 to change legal ownership of Presidential records from the President to the United States Government, which took effect at the beginning of the Reagan administration. archives.gov/press/press-re…." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
