Henderson County Board of Commissioners

YouTube reportedly deletes video of North Carolina county government meeting: A video of a Henderson County Board of Commissioners meeting was reportedly removed by YouTube for violating the platform's COVID-19 medical misinformation policy, according to numerous online news sources. During the recorded meeting a resolution was passed stating Henderson County would not use tax dollars to promote COVID-19 vaccines. "The resolution was followed by people speaking out against vaccinations claiming they were part of a hidden agenda by the media, the government, and the pharmaceutical industry," according to Newsmax. YouTube reportedly pulled the video for violating its medical misinformation policy. According to media reports, the county tried to appeal YouTube's censorship but was promptly denied. "We reviewed your content carefully, and have confirmed that it violates our medical misinformation policy. We know this is probably disappointing news, but it's our job to make sure that YouTube is a safe place for all," YouTube responded, according to Newsmax. Two days after the video was taken off YouTube, Henderson County commissioners called an emergency meeting to implore staff to stop using YouTube and instead seek out other platforms, according to reports.
