Twitter suspended blogger for tweet calling out "dishonesty" on risks of COVID-19 vaccination: Snapshots indicate that Twitter locked and suspended the account of a Substack blogger writing under the apparent pseudonym "Emma Woodhouse" for the following tweet: "Dishonesty about risks of vax v infection." The tweet responded to a user who tweeted the following: "Nothing to see here. I asked my Pediatrician 1000x about myocarditis risk in teen boys and was told repeatedly that the risk was far greater than infection. Now we know not only is that not true, but the vaccines don’t (and didn’t in my teen boys) prevent infection." Twitter initially locked the Woodhouse account, accusing that it violated Twitter's "policy on spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19." Twitter then took a step further and "suspended" the account.
In a blog slamming the censorship, Emma Woodhouse pointed out that this isn't the first bout with Twitter: "This weekend wasn’t the first time Twitter has censored me. Before permanent suspension, I was 'jailed' three times for breaking their *COVID- disinformation rules*." Woodhouse continued: "At best, they’ve violated their own policy (however misguided the policy is) and made a mistake. At worst, they are actively, unabashedly participating in suppression of free speech - possibly at the behest of government or private-industry actors."
Twitter, reversed its decision, conceding that "[a]fter further review, we have unsuspended your account as it does not appear to be in violation of the Twitter rules. Your account is now unsuspended. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience."
Woodhouse acknowledged the reversal in a separate blog headlined, "Twitter Account Restored."
