Instagram deletes user content and issues shadow ban: Recently X user @BurningChrome8 shared on a thread an example of what Instagram views as content that does not follow its guidelines: a laughing emoji. Following a simple comment made under a clothing brand's account, the user's comment was deleted, account restricted and his "content lowered in feed." The platform claimed the user's account, @eldiablogdave on Instagram, had violated community guidelines by "trying to get likes, follows, shares or video views in a misleading way." According to the notice, this violated Instagram's "Community Guidelines on spam." Although it is unclear how the comment may have violated anti-spam policies, it was left on a post that highlighted the clothing company's line of shirts that read "Black Women are Genius."
